A few weeks ago my sister and I took a road trip to Montreal to visit our brother. I eventually will post about that but have been putting it off because I have so much to say. I’m pretty much obsessed with my siblings and I wanted to take my time to make that post a good one. BUT, I did want to get this tidbit out today…

While we were in Montreal we did a lot of catching up, asking questions, and learning more about each other. Now that we’re all adults we’ve become even more open with each other and can discuss things that I used to feel uncomfortable bringing up (being that I’m the oldest and felt pressure to set a good example). One of the questions they asked me was “What is the best part of living with Brad?”

I thought about it for a moment and then I answered, “The best part for me is waking up next to him… those moments every morning when the alarm goes off but we don’t get right out of bed, instead we cuddle while snoozing for an extra few minutes. It’s such a comfortable, safe, homey feeling.”

That was especially true this morning and while I get annoyed living in this cramped apartment sometimes, those moments help me remember that home is whenever I’m with Brad.

This is entertaining in general… but you should also watch it for the hilarity of a guy born and raised on the street of Brooklyn teaching Wall Street “Nerds” how to box while insulting them at every opportunity.

thedailywhat:

Boxing Lessons of the Day: Four-time U.S. amateur boxing champion and all-around tough guy Eric Kelly quit competitive boxing after taking a pool cue to the eye, but now he’s taken up a second career teaching out-of-shape Wall Streeters how to fight.

Or, as he puts it, “training a bunch of f*ckin’ nerds” who “want to come here and feel like men at the end of the day.”

Despite the constant put-downs, the nerds keep paying him to tell them how pathetic their uppercuts are.

(Sorta not safe for work, hilarious verbal abuse.)

In an effort to eat less meat and save more money, I’ve become even more creative with my dining selections. Tonight I made veggie, three (fat free) cheese pizza with whole wheat crust. Full disclosure, I originally got the idea from Pinterest but, as always, I made my own interpretation that didn’t involve measuring or using half the ingredients suggested.

First I lightly sauteed the brussel sprouts and asparagus (but just a bit - we like ‘em crunchy). Then, like a true pro (I was a pizza “chef” for two years) I tossed the dough and laid it out on a cookie sheet*.

Next came the fat free ricotta which I lightly spread onto the crust, followed by a light layer of pesto. Then the veggies and a sprinkle of fat free motz and goat cheese. Baked for 10 min at 425 and voila! And since there’s only two of us, we still have half a pizza for tomorrow.

*I would love to have a pizza stone and a million other kitchen toys but our apartment kitchen is smaller than my mother’s walk in closet. It’s actually possible that it’s smaller than my cubicle at work, so there’s no place to store anything. Maybe one day I’ll write about that, complete with pictures so you can be more impressed with what I manage to whip up.

MoneyGrabber - Fitz and The Tantrums.

Way fun new band. I had a hard time deciding which video to post so here’s the other one.

An elderly couple almost missed the bus because he was busy whispering sweet nothings into her ear. I don’t know if they are an old married couple or two single people flirting, but it’s nice to know that getting old doesn’t mean you can’t get frisky.

(I made sure to hold the bus for them and they’re siting in the seat across the aisle from me, holding hands.)
